Job description
Core42 seeks a Wintel System Administrator responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and Windows infrastructure across workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor-specific platforms. The role includes cloud support and monitoring across Azure/AWS/G42, with hands-on administration of Azure resources such as Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets (VMSS), Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Active Directory, Resource Groups, Storage, and basic networking, plus configuration of VMs and Web Applications via the Azure Portal and PowerShell/CLI. Core duties span Windows Administration, Windows Server patching, vulnerability remediation, OS hardening, performance tuning, proactive performance monitoring, capacity planning, and advanced problem determination/root-cause analysis. The administrator manages Active Directory (Group Policy, OU structure, replication, authentication issues), Microsoft Exchange (on-prem and hybrid) and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune), performs user and group management, and supports hybrid models across private/public/hybrid cloud with security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting. Virtualization responsibilities include deploying, managing, and upgrading VMware vCenter/ESXi environments, Hyper-V, and Nutanix, along with Windows Failover Clustering, File Server, and DFS. Networking competencies include IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and fundamentals across LAN/WAN, firewalls, proxy servers, and routers, plus remote server management using iLO, DRAC, and RSA. The role resolves incident tickets (L1/L2), executes change management, collaborates on automation strategies and deployment processes, coordinates with application support and security teams for patch levels and feature configuration, implements backups, monitoring, and security best practices, and supports 24x7 managed services/NOC operations. Preferred capabilities include hybrid on-prem to cloud workload migration, Azure IaaS/PaaS, AWS familiarity, Kubernetes, subnetting/routing/firewalls, and demonstrated installation/configuration/management of Microsoft cloud services such as ADFS, Exchange Online, Intune, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. Certifications listed include Microsoft AZ-104/AZ-900 (Azure Administrator/Azure Fundamentals), Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, MCSD (Azure Solutions Architect), MCSE (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure), MCSA (Office 365/SharePoint Online), alongside ITIL Foundation for service management discipline.
