Job description
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) seeks an Executive Director for the Coverage ā Contracting Sector to grow and manage large account portfolios within the Contracting segment (Infrastructure Contractors) in Wholesale Banking, ensuring revenue targets, client satisfaction, and portfolio credit quality. The role spans client and market analysis (conducting financial analysis on clients, geographies, industries, and markets to identify opportunities and risks), business origination (originating new opportunities across banking products, obtaining stakeholder approvals via governance forums, developing Term Sheets, Information Memoranda, and Mandate letters, examining and resolving credit, market, and operational risk aspects with product and enablement units, maintaining credit quality, pitching, reviewing, negotiating, and concluding deals, and developing interbank relationships), and client relationship management (meeting borrowing and non-borrowing needs, preparing and maintaining Account Plans with partners across products, international banking, employee banking, asset management; supporting annual/periodic credit facility reviews in line with bank credit policy; recommending appropriate facilities; implementing control aspects including documentation, periodical client visits/call reports, stock inspections, formal credit checks and informal market feedback; organizing senior-level client meetings; identifying and developing cross-sell opportunities across Payments & Cash Management, Trade products, and collaboration with Retail banking including Private Banking; supporting day-to-day banking requirements; driving high customer satisfaction/NPS; onboarding new clients). The role requires collaboration across Contracting teams and other divisions to drive cross-BU opportunities (proposition strategy, competition analysis, focused group approach, service delivery model, customer experience, internal/external campaigns, alignment with Risk policies, Payment & Cash management, Trade products, and Retail banking), and alignment with International Banking to support clients across FAB network locations. Operationally, the Executive Director must adhere to policies, processes, SOPs; conduct periodic portfolio reviews of credit, operational, and compliance risks; drive administrative and transactional activities (client calls, documentation follow-up, pipeline updates); ensure internal processes for existing portfolio/NTBs align with bank policies; manage and follow up on KYC and compliance requirements consistent with AML policies and regulations; ensure timely credit reviews and covenant/condition adherence; maintain complete client files/documents; maintain satisfactory audit on the portfolio; meet process KPIs and ORM, BCP, and Internal Audit requirements; and prepare timely, accurate statements and reports. Leadership duties include managing and role-modeling for the Contracting sector team, motivating, developing, and coaching team members, achieving individual and team financial targets, attending training and ensuring skill upgrades, participating in hiring, and quickly resolving/avoiding internal/external conflicts. Required capabilities include deep knowledge of Corporate and Investment Banking, understanding of FABās product offering and strategy, stakeholder collaboration, strong relationship management, written and verbal communication, analytical and research ability, deep financial and credit analysis, data analysis and financial modelling skills, proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and the ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities.

- Support annual and periodic credit facility reviews, recommend appropriate facilities per credit policy, and identify candidates for upgrades/downgrades
- Implement control measures including documentation, client visits and call reports, stock inspections, credit checks, and market feedback to monitor the portfolio
- Organize senior-level client meetings with relevant partners to expand FABās relationship within the portfolio
- Identify and develop cross-sell opportunities across Payments & Cash Management, Trade products, and Retail/Private Banking to increase cross-sell ratios and returns
- Support clientsā day-to-day banking requirements through the team and ensure targeted customer satisfaction and NPS scores
- Onboard new clients, ensuring alignment with FAB policies and seamless transition into the portfolio
- Collaborate with Contracting sector teams and cross-business units to drive proposition strategy, competition analysis, service delivery models, and campaigns aligned with Risk policies and product propositions
- Align with International Banking to support client needs across FAB network locations and drive bank-wide initiatives as assigned
- Follow policies, processes, SOPs, and conduct periodic credit, operational, and compliance risk reviews across the portfolio
- Drive administrative and transactional team activities (client calls, documentation follow-up, pipeline updates) to ensure continuity and quality output
- Manage KYC and compliance requirements, ensure timely credit reviews and covenant adherence, maintain complete client documentation, and sustain satisfactory audit outcomes
- Meet process KPIs and ORM, BCP, and Internal Audit requirements and prepare timely, accurate statements and reports for the unit
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, achieve individual and team financial targets, support training and hiring, and resolve/avoid internal and external conflicts swiftly
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Finance or related discipline; Masterās degree in Business Administration preferred
- Bring 12ā15 years of corporate and/or investment banking experience with 5+ years of team management
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of the Corporate and Investment Banking sector and understanding of FABās product offering and strategy
- Show ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the bank to drive business and cross-BU initiatives
- Possess strong relationship management, written and verbal communication, and research and analytical capabilities
- Exhibit deep financial and credit analysis ability with aptitude to identify opportunities and close business deals
- Demonstrate data analysis and financial modelling skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
