Job description
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi sits in Saadiyat Island's Cultural District, on a seven-hectare campus a few minutes from the Louvre Abu Dhabi and New York University Abu Dhabi. This maternity cover starts immediately and combines EAL with MFL, with French and Spanish taught from Year 6 to Year 13 on the British curriculum. Planning follows the school's Teaching and Learning Policy, with clear objectives, targets built on prior attainment and differentiation for SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students. Assessment for learning and performance data shape your lessons, and marking follows the school's Marking Policy. Behaviour is managed through the Behaviour for Learning Policy. Outside lessons, the work includes reports to parents, parent and student events and reviews of schemes of work, plus occasional meetings with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists or educational psychologists. Co-curricular involvement is expected too, in a programme that runs from debating to golf and horse riding. A relevant degree with a PGCE or equivalent is required, along with experience teaching the English National Curriculum, and time in more than one international school would be welcome.
