Job description
Weekend and bank holiday cover is part of this role, because Bank ABC's markets elsewhere in the world stay open when Bahrain closes. Most of the work, though, happens within the Loans and Islamic Operations team, where demanding clerical, data input, reconciliation and monitoring tasks need to be completed accurately and on time. At Assistant Manager level, you review and authorize the work of colleagues at lower grades and coach less experienced team members. Everything processed has to meet Bank procedures and relevant external regulations, and irregularities go to management through clear reports. Process improvement is a steady thread, along with user acceptance testing when new IT systems, upgrades or products come in. Enquiries from customers and other departments can be complex, so clear explanations matter. Hands-on experience with Wholesale and Islamic Loan products, services and operations is essential, together with basic knowledge of the related accounting standards. Expect to bring 5 or more years in a similar role, with Arabic, French or Portuguese a useful addition to English and a Lean / Six Sigma qualification valued.
