The Area Manager (Operations & Last Mile Logistics) – UAE National role at Amazon Fulfillment MENA L.L.C is responsible for leading operational teams within Amazon’s Worldwide Operations network that delivers millions of packages daily to customers. The role involves managing teams of hourly employees while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and operational performance. The Area Manager is accountable for ensuring customer orders are delivered at the right time and to the correct location while maintaining operational excellence across Amazon’s logistics workflow including First Mile, Middle Mile, and Last Mile operations. The role operates within Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L), an organization focused on innovating and improving last mile customer experience by enhancing speed and delivery efficiency. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including Safety, Operations Integration, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources to develop operational plans and achieve business objectives. The Area Manager must operate in a fast-paced fulfillment environment involving physical activity such as lifting up to 49 pounds, standing and walking for up to 12-hour shifts, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs. The role requires working in environments with variable noise levels, temperature variations, outdoor loading areas, and refrigerated environments in grocery locations. The candidate must also work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays. The role requires experience in employee and performance management, operational metrics tracking, process improvement, and lean techniques, with preference for candidates experienced in performance metrics and operational optimization. The candidate must be a UAE National with Family Book and possess strong operational leadership capabilities in logistics, fulfillment operations, and last mile delivery management.
