Job description
The Senior Financial Auditor at EY is responsible for leading and executing audit engagements across clients in diverse industries, ensuring compliance with international accounting and reporting standards. This role focuses on providing high-quality external audit services, identifying business risks, and delivering meaningful insights that enhance clientsâ financial transparency and governance. The position requires strong technical expertise in audit methodologies, financial reporting frameworks such as IFRS and GAAP, and practical experience with major audit tools and assurance systems. The auditor will contribute to both client-facing engagements and internal firm initiatives, ensuring all deliverables undergo rigorous review and meet EYâs global quality standards. The role includes mentoring junior team members, managing documentation, coordinating with clients, and ensuring engagement milestones are achieved within scope and deadlines. A strong understanding of risk assessment, audit planning, and analytical procedures is essential. Key responsibilities
- Execute and manage financial audit engagements, ensuring compliance with international auditing and accounting standards.
- Perform risk-based audit procedures and analytical reviews to identify key areas of concern in financial reporting.
- Prepare and review audit documentation and working papers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with EYâs methodology.
- Ensure that all audit deliverables are reviewed by higher-level reviewers before client submission.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand business challenges and identify additional value opportunities.
- Contribute to internal firm projects, initiatives, and knowledge-sharing activities within the audit practice.
- Identify potential business opportunities for EY through client engagement and relationship management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of audit assignments.
- Mentor and support junior audit staff to enhance team performance and technical skills.
- Participate in learning and development programs to strengthen professional competencies and keep abreast of evolving regulations.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA is required.
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in external audit, ideally with a leading international audit firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and risk-based auditing methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in English, with Arabic language skills considered an advantage.
- Experience in managing multiple audit engagements and meeting strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with audit software and digital tools used in assurance processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
