The Senior Associate – Assurance Services (Bank Audit) role at BDO UAE, based in Abu Dhabi, is responsible for leading and performing external audits for banking clients in accordance with BDO audit methodology, ensuring high-quality and complete audit documentation. The role includes assisting clients in the preparation or review of financial statements for assigned engagements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The position carries end-to-end responsibility for audit engagement project management, including preparation of detailed project plans, timely coordination and engagement with clients, and ensuring effective turnaround and delivery of audit outputs. The Senior Associate identifies, evaluates, and discusses audit and accounting issues on a timely basis with both the audit engagement team and the client, proposing appropriate technical resolutions. The role involves preparing audit reports, communicating findings and recommendations to clients, and developing the capability to present key matters to the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, and Those Charged With Governance (TCWG). The position requires continuous monitoring of clients’ evolving business needs, commercial focus, and objectives, proactively anticipating issues and proposing relevant audit or advisory solutions that add value. The Senior Associate ensures exceptional client service by gaining a detailed understanding of client requirements and delivering engagements within agreed timelines. Ongoing professional development is a core aspect of the role, requiring the incumbent to stay updated on local regulations, changes in International Financial Reporting Standards, and updates to audit methodology, and to proactively communicate these changes to clients. The role requires mandatory bank audit experience, professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CA, or ACCA, and proven experience managing audit engagements within professional services firms or large multinational organizations.
