Egis, an international engineering, architecture, consulting, construction engineering, and mobility services organization operating in 100 countries, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Roads and Highways in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to lead large-scale transportation infrastructure projects across the region. The role involves driving the design, planning, development, and implementation of complex road and highway infrastructure projects while ensuring adherence to UAE and KSA design standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices. The Principal Engineer will act as a technical authority, providing strategic guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders. The role includes championing innovative and sustainable transportation solutions tailored to Gulf region climate and terrain conditions, including desert and arid climate infrastructure solutions. The candidate will oversee the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across infrastructure projects, coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and conduct technical reviews, quality assurance audits, and validation checks for project deliverables. Responsibilities include collaborating with government agencies, clients, and stakeholders, contributing to business development initiatives, supporting proposal writing and client presentations, and ensuring project delivery within schedule and budget. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related design tools, as well as project management methodologies including PMP and PRINCE2. The Principal Engineer will analyze complex engineering challenges, implement data-driven solutions, monitor emerging technologies, and apply best practices in road and highway engineering. The position also involves mentoring engineering talent, supporting sustainable development initiatives, and ensuring high-quality infrastructure delivery across UAE and GCC transportation projects.

- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of large-scale road and highway infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with UAE and KSA design standards, engineering regulations, and project requirements
- Provide strategic technical guidance, mentorship, and professional development to junior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams across transportation infrastructure projects
- Develop and implement innovative and sustainable transportation infrastructure solutions tailored to Gulf region climate conditions including desert and arid environment challenges
- Oversee integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across infrastructure projects and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Conduct comprehensive technical reviews, quality assurance audits, and validation checks on project deliverables to ensure engineering excellence
- Collaborate with stakeholders, government agencies, and clients to align project objectives, ensure delivery timelines, and maintain project budgets
- Support business development initiatives including proposal writing, technical documentation, and client presentations
- Monitor emerging technologies, engineering standards, and best practices in road and highway engineering and apply them to projects
- Analyze complex technical challenges and implement data-driven engineering solutions
- Foster collaborative engineering environments and drive continuous improvement across project teams
Experience & skills
- Hold Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Possess Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent professional qualification recognized in UAE or GCC
- Demonstrate 10–15 years of progressive experience in road and highway engineering including large-scale infrastructure projects
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and industry-standard engineering design tools
- Demonstrate expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) infrastructure project delivery and multi-disciplinary coordination
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management methodologies including PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent frameworks
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of UAE, GCC, and international road and highway design standards and regulations
- Demonstrate expertise in sustainable road construction techniques including desert and arid climate infrastructure solutions
- Demonstrate ability to analyze complex engineering challenges and implement technical solutions
- Demonstrate willingness to travel to project sites and construction locations for oversight and quality assurance
