Job description
The Relationship Manager - Business Banking will manage a set of existing Small Enterprise (SE) relationships while sourcing and originating new ones within business communities around branch locations. The role involves meeting borrowing and non-borrowing needs of customers, up-selling and cross-selling banking products, ensuring portfolio quality, and adhering to compliance policies. The manager will actively work on upgrading SE customers to ME segment while providing superior service, maintaining portfolio quality, and meeting financial and non-financial targets.

Key responsibilities
- Improve share of wallet and target to be primary bank for each relationship in the portfolio.
- Enhance relationship revenue from existing borrowing and non-borrowing accounts by cross-selling the full range of banking products.
- Assume complete ownership of customer relationship management for the assigned portfolio.
- Conduct annual/periodic credit facility reviews and recommend appropriate facilities in line with bank policy.
- Follow up and monitor relationships to ensure satisfactory account conduct and resolve credit-related issues.
- Implement and maintain control aspects including documentation, client visits, stock inspections, and credit checks.
- Maintain acceptable portfolio quality.
- Screen the market for new-to-bank opportunities.
- Liaise between internal and external advisors for precision in agreements.
- Develop the learning curve of SSO to prepare them for higher responsibilities.
- Collaborate with business units, Risk Management, and enabler units to achieve objectives.
- Achieve assigned financial and non-financial targets.
- Adhere to compliance and regulatory policies regarding KYC/AML.
- Update branch manager and regional SE manager regularly for better controls.
- Upgrade SE customers to ME segment by offering tailored solutions.
Experience & skills
- Banking sales and service experience with proven relationship management qualities.
- Advanced vocational knowhow in areas such as Credit, Trade, Operating systems, and Legal.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- At least 4+ years of relevant banking experience in local or international markets.
- MBA/CA qualification preferred, or adequate relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team player.
