Job description
The Site Lead oversees technical operations and installations within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data centers in Saudi Arabia. This hands-on leadership role ensures the smooth and reliable delivery of IT infrastructure support, encompassing hardware, network, cabling, and system administration activities. The Site Lead is responsible for directing local technicians, managing ticket queues and escalations, coordinating on-site operations, and ensuring compliance with Oracleās policies, service level agreements, and safety standards. This includes monitoring performance, leading small-scale projects independently, and supporting larger infrastructure deployments in collaboration with management and global technical teams. The position requires deep expertise in data center design, structured cabling, systems administration (Linux/Windows), and troubleshooting mission-critical hardware and networking environments. The Site Lead acts as a key liaison between on-site operations and broader Oracle technical functions, driving operational efficiency and upholding the high reliability expected of Oracleās global cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities
- Lead site operations and data center engineers, ensuring 24x7 coverage and efficient task execution.
- Oversee hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networking equipment, and structured cabling systems.
- Execute small-scale projects independently and collaborate with management for larger initiatives.
- Monitor and manage ticketing queues, escalations, and blocking issues to maintain operational continuity.
- Supervise racking, stacking, and commissioning of new rack deployments in line with design standards.
- Ensure adherence to Oracleās data center policies, compliance frameworks, and health and safety processes.
- Perform system board-level repairs and fault diagnosis to meet SLAs.
- Plan and commission new rack positions and contribute to the design and fit-out of new white spaces.
- Maintain detailed documentation of site operations, procedures, and audit findings.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including networking, compute, and compliance to resolve technical issues.
- Support audits and site inspections, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Manage and participate in shift rotations, providing on-call support and emergency response when required.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, documentation, and technical best practices.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex hardware, cabling, and infrastructure issues.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3ā5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support and server administration in a mid- to large-scale data center environment.
- Hands-on experience with data center electrical, cooling, and mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of data center design principles including airflow management (hot aisle/cold aisle).
- Expertise in structured cabling, fiber/copper termination, and equipment racking/stacking.
- Proficiency in Linux and/or Windows Server administration and hardware diagnostics.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, and basic troubleshooting.
- Experience in mission-critical operations environments with strong adherence to SLAs.
- Ability to lead teams, manage workloads, and maintain site operational efficiency.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must hold a valid driving license and be capable of reaching the data center within 60 minutes for on-call duties.
