Job description
Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, building, securing, and operating scalable infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), hybrid environments, and on-premises infrastructure. The role focuses primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as the core cloud platform while also supporting multi-cloud architecture with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3, and providing exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The position includes administration of VMware virtualization environments using VMware vSphere and VMware ESXi, as well as implementation and management of enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup policies, replication strategies, and recovery testing to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for critical workloads. The engineer supports cloud migration initiatives and manages Linux-based systems across distributions including Ubuntu, CentOS, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Responsibilities include implementing high-availability architectures utilizing HAProxy, Keepalived, and load balancers; administering storage technologies including LVM, NFS, object storage, MinIO, and S3-compatible storage; and supporting database platforms such as MySQL and Percona database clusters. The role requires infrastructure automation using Ansible and Terraform, scripting using Bash and Python, and support for containerized workloads using Docker and Docker Compose. The engineer is responsible for deploying and managing GCP services across compute, networking, storage, IAM, and security components, while implementing security hardening standards aligned with NCA and CIS frameworks. Additional responsibilities include managing secrets, certificates, encryption, and configuring web application firewall and security controls using Cloud Armor, ModSecurity, and Coraza. The role also requires implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging, and participating in incident response and monitoring activities to maintain operational reliability across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure environments. Preferred certifications include RHCSA, RHCE, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer, and AWS or OCI certifications.
