Job description
The Project Director – Asset Management will lead the successful delivery of the Asset Management Office Setup project at King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires strategic and technical leadership across multiple workstreams, leveraging extensive experience in aviation operations, facilities management, and O&M requirements. The director will oversee the design and implementation of asset management frameworks, lifecycle strategies, investment planning, performance monitoring, and compliance with ISO 55001 standards. Working closely with the client and multidisciplinary teams, the director ensures integration of best-in-class asset management practices, manages risk, controls budgets, and delivers strategic transformation initiatives while acting as a subject matter expert in airport asset management.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead overall project delivery from initiation to close-out, ensuring alignment with contract, scope, and agreed deliverables
- Guide, contribute to, and review outputs across workstreams including Asset Life Cycle, Asset Assessment & Investment Planning, and Asset Assurance & Performance Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring successful implementation and integration of the Asset Management Office
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and senior workstream leads, directing on-site project staff
- Oversee compliance with ISO 55001 standards and integration of best-in-class asset management frameworks
- Oversee project planning, risk management, resource allocation, and budget control
- Review and sign off on all strategic reports, transformation plans, and policy deliverables
- Serve as escalation point for all project-related matters and ensure timely resolution
- Provide executive-level reporting and participate in governance and steering committee reviews
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Asset Management in Aviation across the global business
Experience & skills
- 20+ years of overall professional experience with substantial experience in Asset Management, preferably in large-scale aviation projects
- Hands-on experience in the aviation sector, such as airports or civil aviation authorities
- Proven success delivering complex consulting or engineering programs with multiple stakeholders and high visibility
- Strong knowledge of ISO 55001 standards, auditing, and asset management best practices
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred
- Experience working with clients in the GCC region, particularly on government or public sector infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems, capital planning tools, and enterprise transformation programs
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certifications
- Arabic language skills would be a plus
