Job description
GEMS FirstPoint School sits in the heart of The Villa community in Dubai, home to around 2,000 students from Nursery to Year 13 representing more than 100 nationalities. This Teacher of Physical Education role joins a British curriculum school rated Very Good by the KHDA and recognised as Outstanding by British Schools Overseas. You teach PE across the curriculum, including GCSE where applicable, drawing on strong subject knowledge to deliver engaging, high quality learning experiences. Facilities here go well beyond a standard PE department, with sports and performing arts centres, swimming pools, and specialist science laboratories all part of the campus. Middle leadership responsibilities may open up for suitably qualified candidates too, spanning Curriculum Leadership, Head of Year, ECA Coordination, or Head of Careers. Professional development runs deep at FirstPoint, which hosts National Professional Qualification programmes including NPQSL and NPQH for educators across the region. Inclusive education matters throughout the school, and the role calls for someone able to inspire students of all abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills help here too, alongside a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school. Career progression within GEMS Education adds a longer term path for teachers who join at this stage.
