Job description
The Legal Counsel (Real Estate) is responsible for leading the legal function for Driven Properties, a premier real estate brokerage firm headquartered in Dubai, UAE, providing comprehensive legal guidance on real estate transactions, contractual matters, and regulatory compliance. The role involves advising on property acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development projects while drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate agreements including purchase agreements, lease agreements, and joint venture agreements. The Legal Counsel conducts legal due diligence on real estate transactions to identify and mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The position requires advising on real estate regulatory matters including zoning laws, land use regulations, and property licensing requirements across Dubai and the UAE. The role collaborates closely with internal departments including sales, marketing, and finance to ensure legal compliance and alignment with business objectives. The Legal Counsel represents the company in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters while staying updated on changes in real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends. The role includes providing proactive legal advice to management, delivering legal training to internal teams, supporting legal risk mitigation strategies, and contributing to shaping legal strategies and ensuring compliance across real estate brokerage operations within the UAE real estate market.

Key responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance and support on real estate matters including property acquisitions, property sales, leasing arrangements, and development projects while ensuring compliance with UAE real estate laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate agreements including purchase agreements, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, and other contractual documentation.
- Conduct legal due diligence on real estate transactions to identify legal risks, verify documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Advise on real estate regulatory matters including zoning laws, land use regulations, and property licensing requirements across Dubai and the wider UAE.
- Collaborate with internal departments including sales, marketing, and finance to ensure legal compliance and alignment with business objectives.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings including litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution related to real estate matters.
- Monitor updates in real estate laws, regulations, and market trends in Dubai and UAE and provide proactive legal advice to management.
- Provide legal training and guidance to internal teams on real estate legal matters, compliance requirements, and best practices.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate experience providing legal guidance on real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development projects.
- Demonstrate experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate agreements including purchase agreements, lease agreements, and joint venture agreements.
- Demonstrate experience conducting legal due diligence and legal risk assessment for real estate transactions.
