Job description
The Vice President of Information Technology at DDW in Dubai is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of IT strategies and policies aligned with business goals, driving digital transformation, managing IT infrastructure, networks, software systems, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications including ERP, CRM, HRMS, and IFS. The role includes managing day-to-day operations of the Technology Centre, implementing IT governance best practices, conducting security analyses, and overseeing audits. The VP ensures optimal use of resources, supervises project delivery within budget, handles department manpower and performance management, and leads change management initiatives. The position demands strong knowledge in modern IT domains, project management, compliance with ISR regulations, and leadership capabilities, with a focus on innovation and operational efficiency in a high-value maritime and logistics environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Develop and oversee implementation of divisional IT policies and controls
- Ensure compliance with ISR regulations to safeguard company IP
- Consolidate and monitor IT budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Technology Centre
- Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business objectives
- Drive digital adoption and automation to enhance service delivery
- Manage IT operations across infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity
- Lead design and maintenance of enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRMS, IFS)
- Implement IT governance and audit compliance processes
- Conduct periodic security and technology evaluations and POCs
- Organize user feedback and satisfaction assessments
- Coordinate project planning and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Liaise with stakeholders for project-related discussions and resolutions
- Oversee department resources, recruitment, and training
- Provide performance assessments and succession planning
- Lead security design and implementation initiatives
- Ensure change management through continuous improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff for optimal performance
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Information Technology or equivalent
- Masterās degree in relevant field (preferred)
- Training in Information Security, Control Structures, Network Security, Backup Systems
- Proven experience leading IT teams in high-value projects
- Broad IT knowledge and up-to-date with latest technologies
- Excellent knowledge of IT management, information analysis, hardware/software systems
- Expertise in data center and data governance
- Strong understanding of computer networks and administration
- Demonstrated ability in resolving technical issues during project phases
- Proven multitasking and deadline-oriented capabilities
- Ability to align tasks with business objectives
- Knowledgeable in safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards
- Prior experience as an IT manager in a large organization
