Job description
The Managing Consultant, Advisors Program Management (Payments & Programme Management Consultant) role in Doha, Qatar, is responsible for leading high-visibility payments programmes from strategy to execution. The role combines strategic planning, execution, and value realization across consumer and SME portfolios, covering platform enablement, digital payments adoption, issuer and acquirer changes, regulatory and scheme updates, and lifecycle programs such as activation, usage, balance build, retention, and wallet/tokenization adoption. The incumbent partners cross-functionally with Product, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Technology/Processor, Marketing, and vendors to optimize outcomes. The position emphasizes operational control, audit readiness, stakeholder alignment, and measurable commercial and customer experience outcomes. This role demands deep analytics fluency, structured program delivery, and experience in complex payment program implementations across EEMEA.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Co-create and execute multi-workstream programme strategies and roadmaps, translating plans into quarterly OKRs with gated KPIs and risk-controlled milestones.
- Lead the delivery of platform enablement initiatives, digital payments adoption programs, issuer/acquirer change management, and regulatory/scheme updates, ensuring projects are on time, within budget, and compliant with controls.
- Design and operate lifecycle programmes including activation, usage, balance building, and retention across CRM, digital, branch/tele, and merchant channels, implementing testing, targeting, controls, and optimization.
- Recommend and manage commercial levers such as pricing, fees, and merchant/go-to-market partnerships to grow programme profitability while maintaining customer experience guardrails.
- Develop analytics dashboards and conduct test-and-learn experiments to provide actionable insights on activation, digital adoption, spend, balances, and retention, operationalizing findings rapidly.
- Run structured change delivery processes (RAID, gating, cutovers) for complex platform changes and maintain auditable documentation, approvals, and evidence packs for compliance reviews.
- Align and manage cross-functional teams including Product, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, Technology/Processor, and external vendors, ensuring smooth coordination, decision-making, and timely execution.
- Define success benchmarks and drive post-launch optimization sprints to sustain activation, digital adoption, usage, and retention gains, while monitoring portfolio health and improving customer experience metrics.
Experience & skills
- 8–12 years of experience in payments programme or project management with demonstrable outcomes across consumer and SME portfolios, including platform changes and lifecycle programme execution.
- Proven ability to design and execute activation, usage, balance build, retention, and digital payments adoption programs (wallets/tokenization/Click-to-Pay).
- Strong experience in controls, compliance, and delivering changes within regulatory and scheme guardrails with auditable documentation and traceability.
- Analytical and data fluency with experience in dashboard creation, data storytelling, test-and-learn experiments, and operationalizing insights to drive program performance.
- Track record of stakeholder leadership, aligning cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver on time, on budget, and maintaining performance cadences.
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end payments programmes, including platform rollout, merchant enablement, loyalty program integration, and portfolio migration, with quantified outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred. Fluent English required; Arabic desirable for GCC/Qatar stakeholders. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, programme/campaign tools, and BI platforms; project management certifications (PMP/PRINCE2) preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel across EEMEA up to 80% as required, and adherence to Mastercard’s corporate security and information integrity responsibilities.
