Job description
The Quant Strategist, Sr Assoc at Northern Trust in Riyadh is responsible for leading the firm's Middle East Equity business operations, serving as the primary client-facing representative and driving both commercial and strategic agendas. The role entails developing and positioning Northern Trust Asset Management’s (NTAM) strategy platform, increasing NTAM’s regional presence, and delivering high-quality client solutions. The strategist will engage with asset owners, represent the equity platform at conferences and webinars, collaborate with global research, product, sustainability, and marketing teams, and author research papers and thought leadership materials. The role demands deep expertise in local investment issues, regulatory frameworks, and experience with the region’s sophisticated institutional clients. Effective communication across diverse and technical audiences is critical, along with a passion for custom, solution-oriented investment thinking.

Key responsibilities
- Drive the commercial and strategic agenda of the Middle East Equity business in collaboration with global stakeholders
- Increase NTAM’s thought leadership and regional footprint in the Middle East
- Build and deliver top-tier client investment solutions
- Represent the NTAM equity platform in meetings, conferences, and webinars
- Collaborate with regional Product, Sustainability, and global Research teams to develop new strategies
- Coordinate with the Marketing team on messaging and material development
- Author and co-author white papers and research of global and local interest
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience working with institutional investors in the Middle East
- Strong understanding of the regional investment landscape, regulations, and competitor activity
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills to communicate quantitative concepts clearly
- Excellent writing ability with demonstrated white paper publication record
- Deep knowledge of local investment issues and regulatory environment
- Passion for developing custom, solution-oriented investment strategies
- Advanced qualifications such as CFA, MBA, or PhD are strong pluses
