Job description
Boeing is seeking a C-17 Avionics Technician to provide comprehensive aircraft maintenance and support for the Kuwait Air Force at Al-Mubarak Air Base. The role encompasses airframe, propulsion, electrical, and avionics maintenance, supporting both flight line and back shop operations. The technician will perform assembly, disassembly, overhaul, configuration of aerospace vehicles, and bench testing. Troubleshooting complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is critical to isolate faults and repair or upgrade components. Responsibilities include overseeing validation and verification testing of systems, ensuring compliance with flight-worthiness requirements, documenting procedures, repairs, test results, modifications, and inspections, and maintaining regulatory and contractual compliance. The position involves mentoring and training junior technicians, performing modifications or upgrades to correct failures or implement changes, and collaborating under general direction to ensure high-quality aircraft readiness. Fluency in technical documentation and adherence to maintenance protocols ensures operational reliability and safety of C-17 aircraft systems.

- Oversee assembly, disassembly, and overhaul of aircraft systems, including airframe, propulsion, electrical, and avionics components
- Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment to ensure proper functionality and operational readiness
- Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and perform necessary repairs or upgrades
- Validate and verify system and component performance to ensure compliance with flight-worthiness requirements
- Document procedures, repairs, modifications, test results, and inspection outcomes to maintain contractual and regulatory compliance
- Inspect components and verify repairs to ensure operational safety and adherence to technical standards
- Assemble, disassemble, or modify systems to correct failures or implement changes according to maintenance protocols
- Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians to ensure proper execution of maintenance and testing procedures
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 years of avionics experience, including hands-on work with C-17 aircraft systems
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience performing airframe, propulsion, electrical, and avionics maintenance in a military or aerospace environment
- Ability to troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and isolate faults
- Proficiency in component assembly, disassembly, system modification, and bench testing procedures
- Experience documenting maintenance activities, test results, and inspections for regulatory and contractual compliance
- Capability to inspect, validate, and verify repairs to meet flight-worthiness requirements
- Strong mentoring and training skills to guide junior technicians and maintain team knowledge and competency
