Job description
The Lead Gas Master Planning Specialist will join Aramco’s Gas Operations Technical Support Division (GOTSD) under the Gas Operations Technical Support & Planning Department (GOTS&PD), responsible for strategic growth and optimization of gas operations. The role integrates technical expertise, digital and technology innovations, and oversees Master Gas Network planning while optimizing the gas supply portfolio through advanced modeling and cost-benefit frameworks. This includes leveraging AI, IoT, and digital twins to deliver high-impact solutions. The position involves translating corporate strategies into comprehensive development plans spanning 10 to 20 years to guide capital investment decisions, performing facilities assessment, forecasting demand and supply scenarios, evaluating emerging technologies and sustainability practices, developing conceptual designs and scopes for new projects or upgrades, leading Business Master Plans and supporting Facility Master Plans, integrating relevant data and priorities, conducting cost-benefit analyses, comparing alternative solutions, presenting data-driven recommendations, and revising plans in response to major market, regulatory, or technological changes. The role requires working with multi-disciplinary teams, interfacing with senior management, and endorsing and implementing capital projects based on Master Plan recommendations.

- Assess existing facilities and infrastructure performance to support strategic planning
- Forecast future demand and supply scenarios including market, demographic, or regulatory changes
- Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies and sustainability practices on gas operations
- Develop conceptual designs and scopes for new projects or facility upgrades
- Lead Business Master Plans and support Facility Master Plans for long-term gas development
- Integrate all relevant data and perspectives into the plan aligned with priorities and resource allocation
- Perform cost-benefit analyses to compare alternative solutions and determine efficient, sustainable paths
- Present data-driven recommendations to support decision-making at critical milestones
- Schedule and update plans regularly, revising in response to major changes in assumptions or conditions
- Ensure Master Plans remain relevant, actionable, and aligned with corporate strategies
- Endorse and implement capital projects based on Master Plan recommendations
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical, with an advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management as a plus
- Have minimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or energy sector with strong understanding of upstream operations
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) preferred
- Experience in developing or reviewing Master Plans for gas industrial or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with capital planning processes, feasibility studies, and economic modeling
- Proven experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and interfacing with senior management and executive stakeholders
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, long-term planning, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Exhibit project management capabilities including scheduling, resource coordination, and milestone tracking
- Proficiency in planning and modeling tools such as Excel, Primavera, SAP, or other enterprise planning systems
- Ability to synthesize complex technical and commercial data into actionable plans
