Job description
GEMS School of Research and Innovation runs a curriculum from Pre-Prep and Prep through to Sixth Form, backed by investments in AI, robotics, and advanced facilities that shape both academic outcomes and student well-being. You lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment across the whole school, working closely with the Principal, Senior Leadership Team, Lead Practitioners, and teaching colleagues. Technology runs deep here, from gamification and robotics in the early years through Web3, blockchain, drones, autonomous vehicles, and esports labs at Secondary and Sixth Form level. Strategic direction for curriculum development and quality assurance sits at the heart of the role, ensuring the right breadth, depth, challenge, and progression for every learner. You champion evidence-informed teaching, support purposeful integration of technology and fresh learning approaches, and make sure assessment stays aligned with curriculum intent. Quality and impact of teaching get evaluated alongside leaders and teachers, using assessment data and student outcomes to set priorities and drive ongoing improvement. Professional learning on curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment falls under your leadership too, delivered through coaching, collaboration, and strong professional development. As part of the leadership team, you contribute to whole-school strategic planning and self-evaluation, while making sure curriculum and assessment practices meet regulatory, inspection, accreditation, and awarding-body requirements.
