Job description
The Technician (Mechanical) at Al-Futtaim Automotive is responsible for executing vehicle repair and maintenance tasks to the highest technical and safety standards across the companyâs aftersales service network in the UAE. Reporting to the Aftersales Workshop Supervisor, the role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing engines, drivetrains, and chassis systems while ensuring all work complies with established manufacturer procedures and productivity targets. The Technician will independently perform Level 1 and Level 3 repairs, utilize advanced diagnostic tools for fault rectification, and maintain detailed technical feedback to support product improvement initiatives. The position demands strong technical ability, precision, and an unwavering commitment to delivering customer satisfaction through quality service. The role forms a vital part of Al-Futtaimâs aftersales operations, supporting a âQuality Service Cultureâ aimed at creating lifelong customers through exceptional mechanical expertise and efficiency.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on engines, drivetrains, and chassis systems.
- Independently execute Level 1 repairs such as replacement of brakes, clutches, steering, and suspension components.
- Carry out Level III diagnostics and repairs using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ensure all assigned repair and service jobs meet procedural and time standards set by Al-Futtaim Automotive.
- Maintain high standards of workshop housekeeping and safety compliance.
- Collect and present technical data for analysis and feedback to principal manufacturers to support product improvements.
- Perform quality checks on completed repairs to ensure full compliance with brand and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to enhance workshop productivity and customer service standards.
- Document all repairs accurately in the service management system and ensure transparency in reporting defects and solutions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in the workshop by identifying recurring technical issues and suggesting corrective measures.
Experience & skills
- High School diploma and graduation from an accredited Technical School or equivalent certification.
- 5â7 years of hands-on experience as an Auto Mechanic in a reputable automotive workshop.
- Preferably certified as a Pro-Technician with experience in handling multiple automotive brands.
- Valid GCC driving license is required.
- Strong technical proficiency in mechanical repair, diagnostics, and use of advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent understanding of automotive systems including engines, clutches, suspension, and steering mechanisms.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a workshop environment.
- Commitment to quality service delivery and adherence to manufacturer standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with customers and team members.
