Job description
The Automation Customer Success Engineering (Security Lifecycle Management) role at IBM in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a client-facing technical sales engineering position within IBM Global Sales focused on designing viable client solutions using IBM’s security lifecycle management and broader technology portfolio. The role requires delivering technical proof points through demonstrations, Proof of Technology (POT), Proof of Concept (POC), workshops, solution design engagements, and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to clearly demonstrate product value. The engineer is responsible for driving customer adoption and expansion of IBM products by activating entitlements, conducting use-case workshops, and establishing measurable business outcomes with stakeholders. A core function includes developing structured success plans with deployment roadmaps, milestones, and outcome definitions to ensure effective product adoption and long-term customer value. The role demands deep understanding of client challenges, positioning the engineer as a trusted advisor for modernization, hybrid cloud transformation, AI adoption, and enterprise security lifecycle solutions. The position requires collaboration across IBM teams and external clients to remove technical blockers in sales opportunities, optimize solution design, and support end-to-end customer success journeys. It operates within IBM’s Global Markets and Global Sales organization, leveraging global expertise and local engagement to support enterprise digital transformation initiatives across industries, with a strong emphasis on innovation, cloud adoption, and AI-driven solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Design viable client solutions using IBM product capabilities and remove technical inhibitors in sales opportunities
- Deliver technical proof points through demonstrations, POTs, POCs, workshops, solution design sessions, and MVP development
- Drive customer adoption and expansion by activating entitlements and conducting structured use-case workshops
- Develop and maintain customer success plans including deployment roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes
- Understand and analyze client challenges to provide guidance on modernization and IBM technology adoption
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish business value and measurable outcomes from IBM solutions
- Support solution optimization to ensure maximum client value and alignment with IBM portfolio capabilities
- Engage with clients across the full lifecycle from solution design to adoption and expansion
Experience & skills
- High School Diploma/GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Exposure to technical solution design and client-facing solution engineering
- Experience delivering product demonstrations, POCs, POTs, workshops, and MVPs
- Understanding of enterprise technology portfolios including cloud, AI, and security lifecycle solutions
- Experience working with clients to drive adoption, activation, and measurable business outcomes
- Ability to create structured success plans including deployment roadmaps and milestones
- Strong understanding of client challenges and modernization needs
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value for clients
