Job description
The Architectural Engineer role at du is responsible for the end-to-end design, execution, and delivery of architectural and interior design projects across retail units and corporate offices within the organization. The position ensures successful project delivery within approved cost, timelines, and required quality standards while complying with local authoritiesā regulations, du internal regulations, and HSSE standards. The role involves developing conceptual layouts, visual schemes, and perspective views using AutoCAD and 3D design software, coordinating extensively with internal stakeholders including business units, MEP, FM, Operations, Technology, IT, and Branding, as well as external consultants, contractors, vendors, and local authorities. The Architectural Engineer prepares tender documents, architectural drawings, and bills of quantities, participates in value engineering exercises, conducts site visits and inspections, reviews shop drawings and material submittals, and manages projects from initiation through close-out. The position supports workplace enhancement initiatives, maintains project records and standard construction details, and ensures all approvals are secured from relevant stakeholders. The role is designated for UAE Nationals only and operates within the regulatory and shared services function of a telecommunications organization.

Key responsibilities
- Design projects and ensure successful execution and delivery within approved cost, timelines, and quality standards
- Develop conceptual layouts, visual schemes, and perspective views using AutoCAD and 3D design software in compliance with business requirements, local regulations, and HSSE standards
- Ensure design delivery aligns with retail business plans, organizational standards, and agreed timelines
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including business units, MEP, FM, Operations, Technology, IT, and Branding to incorporate all required inputs into designs
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, vendors, and local authorities
- Acquire all required internal and external approvals for assigned projects
- Prepare and deliver tender documents including architectural drawings and bills of quantities
- Support business units by developing proposals to enhance work environment quality and employee wellbeing
- Visit project sites, premises, and contractor facilities for technical evaluation and inspection
- Participate in value engineering exercises by proposing alternative materials within quality and budget constraints
- Maintain project databases and standard construction details for future reference
- Review shop drawings, specifications, and material submittals to ensure contractual compliance
- Manage projects from initiation through close-out, including site supervision
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of professional experience with at least 3 years as an interior designer for retail shops and corporate offices
- Demonstrate knowledge of architectural and interior design principles, building materials, and construction methods
- Exhibit proficiency in CAD, Revit, BIM, and related design software
- Maintain working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Office
- Possess basic knowledge of local authoritiesā requirements and building design cost considerations
- Meet UAE National eligibility requirement for the role
