Job description

The Accountant will provide support on accounting activities and ensure compliance with financial procedures and schedule of authority. The role is responsible for accurate financial reporting to reflect the company’s performance, assisting with audits, conducting reconciliations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The role also covers cash management, debtor follow-ups, invoice handling, and fixed asset and inventory counts to ensure control and compliance.

Key responsibilities

Reconciliation of accounts/statements between the General ledger, external parties and sub ledgers
Prepare Management Information Report including monthly balance sheet and profit and loss account for management review
Assist internal and external auditors and implement recommendations for improving the system
Conduct periodic cash audits
Ensure payments are carried out in accordance with SOA and financial policies
Analyse, reconcile and follow up on debtors accounts to ensure adherence to the credit policy and SOA
Ensure sorting and dispatch of invoices
Compile data on operating expenses and incorporate into sales and margin figures for budget finalisation
Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting process
Conduct periodic counts of fixed assets and trading inventory to ensure availability, usability and fair valuation
Account for Service Contracts, Salik and Traffic fines
Reconcile Cash Till and prepare cash movement report
