Job description
Wood is recruiting for a Lead Process Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on managing the Process engineering and design team for a major Onshore Project in Iraq. The position is a full-time, office-based role in Dubai, UAE, with travel requirements to Iraq and possibly client offices. The EPC Project involves the upgrade of produced water, wash water, and fire-fighting systems across all Rumaila degassing stations, delivering compliant and reliable systems through repair, upgrade, and replacement activities in line with the Client's strategy. The role is accountable for leading the process engineering and design team, ensuring all deliverables conform to applicable engineering codes, standards, and client procedures, and that all work meets operational needs, safety, quality, and schedule objectives. Responsibilities include directing and guiding technical queries, leading safety and design reviews, and liaising with client engineering, operations, and maintenance teams. The role involves managing all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up coordination, providing technical advice, identifying progress or quality issues, recommending corrective actions, and participating in weekly progress meetings. The position requires a strong background in oil and gas projects, flare networks, produced water systems, firewater systems, and refinery environments. It demands an in-depth understanding of process engineering practices, technical assurance, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a multicultural, multinational setting. The working schedule is 48 hours per week, reporting to the Engineering Manager, and requires active engagement in field engineering, material inspection, and project audits.
