Job description
Responsible for managing an assigned consumer portfolio to reduce bad debts, improve recovery rates, and minimize collection costs for Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB). The role involves overseeing overseas agency collections, ensuring all monthly and yearly recovery targets are achieved. The Officer maintains proper documentation of collection activities, conducts planned and surprise audits of external agencies, monitors skip portfolios, and ensures representation of necessary instruments such as DDAs, SIOs, and cheques for recovery. The position includes following up on legal recourse where applicable, negotiating and finalizing restructuring and settlement agreements to minimize bank losses, reviewing payments from agencies, reconciling invoices, managing commission payments, and ensuring timely deposit of collections into the bank account. Additionally, the Officer liaises with relevant departments to resolve overseas payments, reviews and analyzes weekly and monthly agency reports, audits agency activities, reports suspicious activity to management, and ensures compliance with DIB policies and UAE Central Bank regulations.

- Review, monitor, and analyze weekly and monthly reports from agencies and share with Line Manager
- Audit agency activities and report suspicious activities to management
- Review payments received from agencies and ensure correct posting to respective accounts
- Review agency invoices and manage commission payments as per contracts
- Ensure payments collected by agencies are deposited into the Bank Account
- Follow up with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of overseas payments
- Ensure strict compliance with DIB policies and Central Bank UAE regulations
Experience & skills
- 2β3 yearsβ experience in a financial environment, preferably in collections or portfolio management
- University Degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of debt recovery and collection processes
- Familiarity with legal recourse procedures
- Understanding of financial documentation and reporting
- Awareness of Central Bank UAE regulations and banking compliance requirements
