Job description
The Forensic Accountant (Claims Advisory) role supports the preparation and analysis of complex insurance claims within a (re)insurance brokerage environment, including property damage, business interruption, and other financial loss claims. Operating under the guidance of senior team members, the position involves assisting in the quantification of losses, collecting and organizing financial, operational, and accounting data, reviewing supporting documentation, and developing well-structured claim submissions in line with policy coverage and industry practices. The role contributes to analytical and investigative work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of calculations, while gaining exposure to client interactions, insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, policy interpretation, and the end-to-end insurance claims process. Responsibilities also include supporting financial models, preparing claim documentation and working papers, conducting preliminary financial and operational analysis, identifying key drivers of loss and mitigation measures, and maintaining compliance with internal quality control and documentation standards. The position further involves preparing reconciliations, schedules, and analytical support for claim reports, maintaining organized working papers, adhering to Lockton standards and procedures, and participating in internal knowledge sharing, training programs, and best practice initiatives within the MENA insurance advisory context.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of insurance claims for property damage, business interruption, and other financial losses
- Collect, organize, and analyze financial, operational, and accounting data required for claim quantification
- Support the development of financial models and loss calculations aligned with policy coverage and industry practices
- Prepare claim documentation and detailed working papers for submission to insurers and loss adjusters
- Support meetings and discussions with clients, brokers, insurers, and loss adjusters during the claims process
- Prepare presentation materials, summaries, and documentation for client and stakeholder communications
- Document client inputs, queries, and data received accurately throughout the claim lifecycle
- Assist in reviewing insurance policy wordings and identifying relevant coverage sections under supervision
- Conduct preliminary financial and operational analysis to support loss quantification
- Identify key drivers of loss, mitigation measures, and areas requiring clarification
- Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and analytical support for inclusion in claim reports
- Maintain organized, traceable working papers in line with internal quality control standards
- Adhere to Lockton quality management, documentation, and procedural standards
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, templates, and best practice initiatives
- Participate in internal training programs to develop forensic accounting and insurance knowledge
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of assignments
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Possess a professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, or ACCA
- Have at least 3 years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, finance, or accounting roles
- Demonstrate understanding of insurance claims processes and forensic financial analysis
- Apply strong numerical and data analytical capabilities with high attention to detail
- Adhere strictly to internal quality control, documentation, and confidentiality standards
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiently
- Manage deadlines effectively while maintaining accuracy and quality of deliverables
- Support collaboration across cross-functional teams within a claims advisory environment
