Job description
The Assistant Manager – Private Banking supports Private Bankers in managing high-net-worth client portfolios, ensuring excellent client service, portfolio hygiene, risk compliance, and adherence to internal policies. The role involves portfolio review, client onboarding, KYC compliance, and relationship management to maintain client satisfaction and strengthen the bank’s private banking offerings.

Key responsibilities
- Assist Private Bankers in portfolio management, reviewing accounts and preparing credit proposals to ensure orderly portfolios.
- Support onboarding documentation, including account opening forms, KYC requirements, and compliance checks in accordance with bank standards.
- Prepare reports and call documentation, monitor client activity, and ensure processes are followed accurately.
- Maintain and strengthen ongoing client relationships, addressing inquiries and requests within set timelines to enhance client loyalty.
- Obtain client feedback on bank products and services, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies, risk management guidelines, and legal/regulatory requirements to safeguard the bank.
- Assess risks in transactions and provide recommendations to mitigate credit, legal, reputational, and operational risks.
- Coordinate with Lending and Financing teams to ensure proper structuring of client deals.
- Adhere to organizational and departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and instructions for consistent service delivery.
- Manage self in alignment with bank policies and maximize contribution to business performance.
- Demonstrate exceptional client service by applying ADCB Service Standards in all internal and external interactions.
- Follow up on customer requests to ensure timely resolution and effective coordination with Operations and other support teams.
Experience & skills
- At least 5 years of experience in a commercial or universal banking environment, specifically in client-facing roles managing high-net-worth individuals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and handle multiple client needs effectively.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills across stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in transaction handling and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English.
- Understanding of private banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to assess risk, make informed decisions, and ensure compliance with credit guidelines.
