Job description
The Credit Analyst (Wholesale Banking) role in Doha, Qatar provides operational and analytical support in preparing credit proposals and applications for wholesale banking clients while ensuring adherence to internal bank policies, procedures, and Qatar Central Bank (QCB) regulatory guidelines. The role is responsible for assessing, identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling credit risk across assigned portfolios. It involves performing periodic reviews of portfolio risk exposure, analyzing customer financial strengths and weaknesses, and evaluating creditworthiness to ensure sound lending decisions. The Credit Analyst prepares detailed credit assessments and recommendations, highlights deviations from policy or approved lending terms, and supports decision-making processes within the wholesale banking credit function. The role also includes preparing and reviewing periodic (annual or quarterly) credit reports for portfolio monitoring and risk management purposes. It ensures that all credit activities maintain strong credit quality standards and comply with regulatory frameworks and internal governance requirements.

- Prepare and support the development of credit proposals and credit applications for wholesale banking clients in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial statements and assess the creditworthiness of corporate and wholesale banking clients by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and associated credit risks
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control credit risk across assigned portfolios to ensure adherence to credit quality standards and risk appetite frameworks
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews (annual or quarterly) to evaluate risk exposure, credit performance, and compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed credit reports and analytical assessments to support decision-making and provide insights into portfolio performance and risk trends
- Highlight and document any deviations from approved credit policies, terms, or regulatory guidelines and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Support ongoing monitoring of credit exposures to ensure timely identification of emerging risks and implementation of appropriate mitigation measures
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate credit documentation, compliance with governance frameworks, and effective credit risk management processes
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of credit analysis and credit risk management within wholesale or corporate banking environments
- Exhibit ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate corporate customer creditworthiness including strengths, weaknesses, and risk exposure
- Demonstrate understanding of banking policies, internal credit procedures, and regulatory frameworks including Qatar Central Bank (QCB) guidelines
- Show capability in preparing credit proposals, applications, and detailed credit risk reports for portfolio management and decision support
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, measure, and mitigate credit risks across assigned portfolios
- Exhibit ability to conduct periodic credit reviews and monitor portfolio performance in line with risk appetite and governance requirements
- Show strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis, credit documentation, and reporting processes
