Job description
Based in Abu Dhabi (with postings across Jordan, UAE, and KSA), the Consultant | Cyber | Emerging Technology ā AI role at Deloitte focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements; identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to AI systems (ethical, operational, legal, reputational); collaborating with AI development, data science, legal, compliance, and business teams to embed governance and risk management throughout the AI lifecycle; monitoring emerging AI regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines to ensure organizational compliance and proactive risk mitigation; conducting risk assessments and audits of AI models, algorithms, and data usage to identify potential biases, fairness issues, and security vulnerabilities; providing guidance and training to stakeholders on AI governance principles, risk management practices, and responsible AI use; supporting incident response and remediation related to AI system failures or governance breaches; preparing reports and presentations for senior management and governance committees on AI risk posture and compliance status; and promoting a culture of responsible AI use and continuous improvement in governance practices. The position emphasizes knowledge of GDPR, the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and other emerging AI governance guidelines, strong analytical and communication capabilities, and the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into actionable guidance.

Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices
- Identify, assess, and manage ethical, operational, legal, and reputational risks across AI systems and use cases
- Collaborate with AI engineering, data science, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to embed governance and risk controls across the AI lifecycle
- Monitor emerging AI regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines to drive compliance and proactive risk mitigation
- Conduct risk assessments and audits of AI models, algorithms, and data usage to detect bias, fairness issues, and security vulnerabilities
- Provide guidance and deliver stakeholder training on AI governance principles, risk management practices, and responsible AI
- Support incident response and remediation for AI system failures, governance breaches, and control gaps
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and governance committees on AI risk posture and compliance status
- Promote a culture of responsible AI and continuous improvement in governance practices
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Risk Management, or a related field
- Minimum 2ā3 years of experience in AI governance, risk management, compliance, or related roles
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning models, and data management principles
- Knowledge of AI ethics, fairness, transparency, and accountability frameworks
- Familiarity with regulations and standards such as GDPR, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and other emerging AI governance guidelines
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, or impact assessments for AI systems
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable guidance
- Relevant certifications such as AIGP are a plus
