Job description
Turner & Townsend is seeking a QuanTTum Consultant (BIM & Technologies) to join its Natural Resources team in Doha. The role involves applying advanced BIM and 3D modeling skills to support oil & gas and energy sector clients. Responsibilities include LiDAR scanning, processing 3D models, extracting and cleansing data, and appending measurement attributes for reporting. The consultant will support project budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling aligned to 3D models while also preparing cost estimates and managing quantification reports. The role further entails building complex spreadsheets for data analysis, developing reporting tools, and ensuring complete data accuracy. Senior responsibilities include business development support and knowledge management.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Perform LiDAR scanning at client facilities.
- Process LiDAR scans into point clouds and 3D models.
- Extract data from 3D models generated in major 3D authoring software.
- Cleanse extracted model data and update models.
- Append progress measurement attributes and data back into 3D models.
- Conduct 3D model attribute analysis and reporting.
- Implement and maintain quantity control systems and procedures for budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare and review cost estimate quantities against 3D models.
- Provide quantity information to support client decision making.
- Deliver forecasts, trending, and quantity analysis.
- Manage quantification reports and provide regular updates.
- Assist in development and maintenance of project schedules aligned to 3D models.
- Develop reporting tracking tools and generate reports.
- Build spreadsheets to enable data manipulation of large datasets.
- Extract and reconcile data from multiple sources for accuracy and audit trails.
- Support business development and highlight opportunities to senior leadership.
- Ensure knowledge and learnings are captured in Turner & Townsend’s internal database.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Up to 5 years of experience in BIM/3D modeling or similar.
- Background in Quantity Surveying or Estimating is preferable.
- Oil & Gas knowledge highly desirable.
- Experience with Navisworks and 3D model authoring software preferable.
- Membership in professional organizations (RICS, AACEI) is an asset.
- Certification (MRICS, CCP) preferred.
- Programming language experience (Python) preferable.
- Power BI experience preferable.
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills.
- Ability to prepare and reconcile large datasets for project analysis.
