Job description
The Store Manager at GMG is responsible for leading retail sports operations across multiple UAE locations. The role ensures efficient store operations, maximizes sales performance, maintains merchandising standards, delivers exceptional customer service, and fosters a motivated and well-trained store team. The manager monitors inventory, POS transactions, and staff schedules, while proactively addressing customer complaints and optimizing stock performance. This position requires hands-on leadership, operational excellence, and adherence to company policies and standards, contributing to profitability and brand growth.

Key responsibilities
- Communicate store targets to the team and drive sales to achieve financial objectives
- Maintain loss prevention standards and ensure compliance with cash handling procedures
- Oversee point of sale activities including sales transactions, order tracking, refunds, and customer feedback
- Manage cash transactions and POS elements including petty cash and change floats
- Conduct audits and resolve administrative issues; assist with annual stock counts and spot checks
- Handle customer complaints and feedback in line with company policies
- Track and evaluate sales performance, analyze market trends, and propose action plans to increase profitability
- Monitor inventory management, stock availability, order processing, and back-store management
- Ensure proper merchandise display and maintenance of in-store and window displays
- Coordinate with facilities for repairs or replacements of store assets
- Manage staffing levels, prepare rosters, and ensure adequate shift coverage during seasonal peaks and promotions
- Train team members on inventory management and operational procedures
Experience & skills
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in retail operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Strong product and category knowledge in sports or retail
- Proven customer orientation and service excellence
- Proficiency in MS Office and retail tools
- Fluent English (written and spoken); Hindi and/or Arabic skills advantageous
- Leadership skills, team management, and coaching ability
- Analytical skills for sales reporting and market trend evaluation
- Ability to handle operational, financial, and customer service challenges in a fast-paced retail environment
