Job description
Wood is looking to hire a Risk Management Engineer for ADNOC Offshore Central Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks across oil and gas projects, ensuring risk mitigation strategies are embedded in project planning and execution. This includes risk planning, analysis, communication, and integration across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. The position also supports project economics, contingency setting, and enterprise risk management while ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and manage the Risk Management Plan across oil and gas projects
- Integrate risk management across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, estimating, scheduling, and cost accounting
- Support development of commercial contracts from a risk management perspective
- Ensure alignment of stakeholders on project risk tolerance principles
- Schedule and facilitate regular risk reviews and calibration of risks
- Track implementation of treatment actions and analyze their efficacy
- Conduct risk assessments for material project changes
- Support finance and project economics in quantification of risks and contingency setting
- Interpret risk analysis results and provide guidance to managers
- Facilitate risk workshops and maintain risk registers
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, and HSE teams to integrate mitigation plans
- Monitor and report on risk status and trends across project lifecycle
- Provide input to project governance bodies, change control boards, and steering committees
- Engage with contractors and vendors to align risk practices
- Update enterprise risk management team with strategic project risk portfolio
- Prepare and maintain live risk register with monthly reviews
- Consolidate project risk data to present a holistic risk picture
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, or related field
- Master’s degree or certifications (PMI-RMP, Prince2, ISO 31000) preferred
- 10+ years of project risk management experience, ideally in oil and gas
- Experience with risk analysis tools such as SAFRAN, Deltek Acumen, Primavera Risk Analysis, @RISK
- Knowledge of project controls, planning, and HSE risk factors
- Quantitative background in statistics, scientific or financial modelling
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to perform Monte Carlo simulations for cost and schedule
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in high-pressure environments
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management processes
