Job description
The Senior Solution Architect role acts as the single point of contact and solution lead for engaging internal banking stakeholders, understanding business requirements, managing IT demand, and delivering economically assessed, timely solutions to complex business problems. The role operates across enterprise architecture viewpoints, analyzing current and future business capabilities, application portfolios, technology environments, and data landscapes to define optimized future-state architectures and migration roadmaps. The position provides architectural leadership across solution design, governance, technology selection, and implementation oversight, covering infrastructure, applications, middleware, databases, and development environments. The role supports strategic initiatives through solution design, costing, RFP-driven evaluations, build-versus-buy assessments, and enterprise-wide impact analysis, while ensuring alignment with business strategy, IT budgeting, and capital planning processes within a banking environment.

Key responsibilities
- Act as single point of contact and solution lead for internal banking stakeholders
- Engage stakeholders to gather requirements, manage demand, and deliver economically viable solutions
- Analyze enterprise business context, trends, and strategies to define future-state architectures
- Develop technology roadmaps covering applications, infrastructure, data, and platforms
- Define technology domains, standards, principles, guidelines, and design patterns
- Create high-level migration plans to address gaps between current and future states
- Lead analysis of current business capabilities and technology environments to identify deficiencies
- Evaluate technology market and industry trends for enterprise impact
- Guide solution teams in assessing and selecting optimal, cost-effective solution options
- Design and lead architecture governance and compliance activities
- Oversee and consult on technology implementation and modification initiatives
- Support application and infrastructure projects to ensure architectural alignment
- Research, evaluate, and select business applications, hardware, and software standards
- Conduct solution assessments including build-versus-buy decisions and on-premise versus off-premise analysis
- Deliver solution designs and costings for bank-wide initiatives via RFP processes
- Assess organizational and financial impacts of enterprise architecture decisions
- Document architecture designs, analyses, post-implementation reviews, and metrics
- Conduct technical peer reviews to ensure solution quality and alignment
Experience & skills
- Hold a university degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- Possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in IT architecture, solution design, and implementation
- Demonstrate experience across banking applications, network design, application development, middleware, servers, storage, database management, and operations
- Show working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman
- Demonstrate experience using architecture and modeling tools including Erwin, Visio, SAP PowerDesigner, Mega, ABACUS Avolution, or ARIS
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, facilitation, teamwork, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrate ability to lead architectural decision-making and stakeholder engagement in a banking environment
