Job description
Based in Manama within EY’s International Tax & Transaction Services (ITTS) practice, the Manager advises clients on regional and international tax implications in line with relevant tax codes and jurisdictions, specializing in permanent establishment, double taxation, cross-border treaties, tax structuring, corporate tax impact assessments, withholding tax, and related matters. The role assists with the successful delivery of technically complex international tax engagements to ensure technical and practical excellence and maximize client service quality; manages leads and opportunities from other areas of the tax practice and the wider EY network; and contributes to practice development by delivering internal training, developing precedents, sharing knowhow, participating in team and firm events, giving internal and external presentations, and producing expert articles for publications.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver technically complex international tax engagements to a high standard, ensuring technical and practical excellence and maximizing client service quality
- Advise on international tax matters including permanent establishment, double taxation, cross-border treaties, tax structuring, corporate tax impact assessments, and withholding tax
- Manage and convert leads and opportunities in collaboration with other tax sub-services and the wider EY network
- Develop and deliver internal training, precedents, and knowhow to strengthen the practice
- Prepare and present internal and external presentations and produce expert articles for publications
- Participate in team and firm events to support practice growth and knowledge sharing
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related field; or a relevant Master’s degree
- Approved professional qualification such as ADIT, ATT, ACCA, CPA, CA, or LLB
- 6+ years of relevant, client-facing international tax advisory experience
- Broad exposure to international taxation with focus on inbound and outbound investments
- Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills
- Experience managing a team and/or mentoring and developing junior team members
- Ideally: advanced knowledge or specialization in a particular area of international tax
- Ideally: fluency in Arabic (written and spoken)
