Job description
Deloitte is offering a Finance Intern – Audit & Assurance position in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, providing early-career exposure within one of the world’s leading professional services firms. The role supports audit and assurance activities through hands-on involvement in accounting operations, financial reporting, and audit preparation. The Finance Intern is responsible for processing journal entries, substantiating financial transactions through audit documentation, updating financial data within accounting systems, and maintaining accurate accounting records and statements. The role involves compiling and analyzing financial information to support monthly and annual accounts, assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accepted accounting standards and Deloitte policies. The position also supports accounting control procedures, resolves discrepancies, maintains financial databases, coordinates audit preparation, and contributes to analysis of financial trends and business operations, while developing professional, analytical, and technical skills in a structured audit and assurance environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of business transactions
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documentation and entering account information
- Update financial data in accounting systems to ensure accuracy and availability
- Prepare and maintain accounting records and financial statements
- Analyze financial information and prepare accurate financial reports in line with accounting standards
- Compile and analyze financial data to support monthly and annual account preparation
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control procedures
- Monitor implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Develop and maintain financial databases and support audit preparation activities
- Analyze business operations, financial trends, and future commitments to support decision-making
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or an equivalent discipline
- Be a fresher or possess up to 4–6 months of practical hands-on finance or accounting experience
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft D365 as an advantage
- Demonstrate fluency in Arabic and English
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and analytical capability
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and under pressure
- Maintain professional conduct and adaptability across multiple cultures and sectors
