Job description
The Director of Sales at Four Seasons Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island leads the hotelās sales team to achieve revenue targets, maintain exceptional guest satisfaction, and drive overall financial performance. This senior leadership role requires strategic planning and implementation of sales initiatives to optimize revenue growth across all market segments, including US and GCC GEO markets. Responsibilities include recruiting, mentoring, and managing the sales team, evaluating performance, and developing people to ensure alignment with overall hotel objectives. The Director of Sales develops and executes strategic sales plans, negotiates and secures group contracts, monitors sales production, analyzes market data, and adjusts strategies to meet financial goals. The role also entails participation in trade shows, promotional events, and networking activities to develop new markets and key accounts. The position requires close collaboration with the Commercial Director and General Manager, implementation of hotel Minimum Operating Standards, and contribution to annual marketing plans. Regular travel is required. The Director ensures compliance with company procedures, oversees labor and payroll, expense management, and safety instruction, and fosters collaboration across cross-functional teams within the luxury hotel environment.

- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and achieve hotel budget targets
- Recruit, lead, coach, and manage the sales team to align activities with overall goals and evaluate team performance
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with guests, vendors, colleagues, and the global sales network
- Monitor sales production, analyze market data, and adjust strategies to achieve planned goals
- Negotiate and secure group contracts considering room availability, rates, and revenue objectives
- Participate in trade shows, promotional events, and networking opportunities to develop new markets and clients
- Analyze sales performance data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management
- Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts to ensure retention and repeat business
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to adapt sales strategies
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide development and coaching opportunities for sales and events personnel
- Perform supervisory functions including labor and payroll management, compliance training, safety instruction, and expense and travel guidance
- Direct sales activities to achieve budgeted and assigned goals and identify profitable opportunities during periods of varying demand
- Assist in developing and executing the annual marketing plan and ensure execution of project and business plans in all market areas
- Implement sales and marketing procedures in line with company Minimum Operating Standards
- Support the Commercial Director in establishing annual sales goals, incentive programs, and their implementation for maximum achievement
- Travel regularly as required for business development and client engagement
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Commercial Director or General Manager
Experience & skills
- Proven leadership experience in hotel sales within the luxury hospitality market for a minimum of 2 years
- Strong experience and understanding of US and GCC GEO markets and channel-specific strategies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about achieving sales targets
- Organized, disciplined, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
- Fluent in English; fluency in Arabic is preferred, with knowledge of additional languages being an advantage
- Assertive and diplomatic in business relationships
- Strong understanding of the local and regional hospitality industry
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
