Job description
Responsible for supporting the branch in achieving its sales and revenue goals by managing and servicing customer relationships, handling financial transactions, and providing a high level of customer service. The Universal Banker plays a key role in building trust and loyalty with clients by understanding their financial needs and recommending appropriate banking solutions. The position involves processing daily financial transactions accurately, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring compliance with all banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role requires proactively promoting banking products and services to both new and existing customers, contributing to cross-selling and up-selling initiatives to maximize revenue. Additionally, the Universal Banker identifies opportunities for process improvement, prepares detailed reports for management review, and ensures the smooth operation of branch activities. The position demands strong attention to detail, analytical skills to identify trends and improvement areas, and excellent collaboration with branch team members to deliver exceptional customer experience and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities
- Follow all departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures, ensuring consistent application across all customer interactions and branch activities
- Handle all types of customer financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, bill payments, foreign currency exchange, and digital banking operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with branch customers by understanding their needs, providing personalized financial advice, and recommending appropriate products and services
- Implement branch sales plans and actively promote banking products and services to meet and exceed sales and revenue targets for both new and existing customers
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling, up-selling, and deep-selling to enhance customer engagement and maximize branch profitability
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, suggesting enhancements, and participating in implementation of best practices to improve customer experience and operational efficiency
- Prepare timely and detailed reports, including daily transaction summaries, weekly performance reports, and monthly sales and operational reports for branch management review
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all customer transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal procedures, and alignment with regulatory requirements
- Retain and nurture existing customer relationships while actively seeking opportunities to acquire new customers within the branch's market area
- Ensure all banking operations and customer service activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards
- Support branch team collaboration, providing guidance and assistance to colleagues to ensure efficient and seamless branch operations
- Analyze customer feedback, branch performance metrics, and operational reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement, and implement appropriate solutions
- Provide exceptional problem-solving support to customers, resolving issues promptly while maintaining compliance, accuracy, and service excellence
Experience & skills
- Strong knowledge of banking products and services, including savings accounts, current accounts, loans, credit facilities, investment products, and digital banking platforms
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to engage clients effectively, address queries, and resolve complaints professionally
- Ability to achieve sales goals and revenue targets through proactive promotion of banking solutions and effective relationship management
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting
