Job description
Chalhoub Group is seeking a Director ā Merchandise Planning to lead the merchandise category supply chain strategy across its hybrid luxury retail network. The role focuses on building a robust, agile supply chain that supports omnichannel growth and operational excellence. This leadership position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive category blueprint, optimize open-to-buy strategies, balance inventory levels, and drive profitability. The ideal candidate will play a key role in transformation initiatives, ROI scenario planning, and building organizational capabilities through process improvements and team development. This role partners closely with the Chief Demand and Supply Planning Officer and senior business leaders.

Key responsibilities
- Drive and oversee the merchandise category planning strategy aligned with market and brand specifics.
- Collaborate across departments to develop a merchandise category blueprint with data-driven recommendations.
- Lead the open-to-buy planning process and purchasing strategy to meet business targets.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring product availability while controlling costs.
- Initiate actions based on business performance analysis to align with strategic goals.
- Lead continuous process improvements and evaluate ROI and risk for system and process changes.
- Oversee talent management and capability development within the planning team.
- Support business transformation by aligning tools, resources, and people with strategic objectives.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in retail or distribution, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Experience in buying, merchandising, or planning within FMCG, luxury, B2B, brand, or retail sectors.
- Proven track record in successful merchandise planning and execution.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills for strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
- Highly organized, with strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with ecommerce operations and omnichannel retail dynamics.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
