Job description
The Site Engineer - Plumbing is responsible for managing all internal and external plumbing activities across multiple projects for Al Futtaim Engineering. The role involves validating designs, managing site installations, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting cost-effective project delivery. The engineer will also handle procurement coordination, approvals from authorities, and mentor junior staff to maintain high construction standards.

Key responsibilities
- Validate plumbing design and technical calculations
- Review project scope, specifications, and tender documents
- Liaise with main contractors, consultants, and internal departments
- Plan resource allocation and coordinate material and labour requirements
- Monitor site productivity and progress, and address inefficiencies
- Supervise installation works to ensure quality workmanship
- Coordinate with local authorities for necessary approvals
- Support quantity surveyors in capturing variations and claims
- Propose value engineering solutions for design improvements
- Coordinate shop drawings and submittals with drafting and engineering teams
- Review vendor proposals and procurement submittals
- Resolve complex technical issues during design and construction
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and internal procedures
- Maintain and share lessons learned within the organization
- Develop activity-specific method statements aligned with specifications
- Ensure full adherence to HSE policies and JSAs
- Report incidents and assist with HSE investigations
- Support project closeout documentation and handover processes
Experience & skills
- Degree in Plumbing Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP Contracting Companies
- At least 3 years of UAE-based experience
- Sound knowledge of plumbing design regulations and standards
- Proficiency in project planning and cost management
- Familiarity with project management software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and Primavera
