Job description
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team is seeking a skilled and versatile Senior Engagement Manager to lead delivery of complex AWS-based cloud solution projects. This role involves combining technical expertise with strong project leadership to bridge business requirements with technical solutions, applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework. Responsibilities include leading cloud migration and implementation projects, facilitating engineering discussions, mapping technical requirements to business outcomes, managing technical risks, and contributing to documentation standards. The position requires achieving AWS certifications, building domain-specific expertise, and communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences. It includes mentoring opportunities and advancement into complex technical strategy leadership.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects
- Leverage AWS services, architectures, and best practices for technical decisions and planning
- Bridge business requirements with technical solutions and facilitate engineering discussions
- Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements mapped to business outcomes
- Decompose complex technical problems into actionable solutions
- Contribute to technical documentation and define documentation standards
Experience & skills
- 5+ years of experience in cloud computing
- 10+ years in project management of technical programs
- 5+ years of experience in consulting and working with enterprise customers
- 5+ years of experience with customer cloud transformation activities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
- AWS experience preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
- Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices
- Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework
- Proven ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior technical decision-makers
