Job description
Al-Futtaim Real Estate (Asset Development) seeks an experienced client-side Senior Project Manager â Electrical to operate as part of a small MEP team, contributing across multiple projects from design and planning through completion. The role acts as the technical clientâs representative to ensure all electrical engineering aspects of real estate projects are designed, reviewed, and executed to the highest standards, safeguarding technical integrity, schedule, and budget while delivering high-performance, sustainable, and safe electrical power and ELV systems. Responsibilities span developing and enforcing project briefing and technical standards, reviewing all design stages (Concept to Detailed Design) for compliance with design intent and business requirements, producing formal review/approval status reports for consultant and contractor designs and managing responses and close-out, assisting with evaluation of site problems and solutions and testing and commissioning of key works, monitoring progress against milestones and initiating corrective actions, procuring actions from team members and reporting on results, monitoring costs with the project team and preparing actions to maintain cost targets, evaluating variations and preparing budget estimates with the cost team, leading regular value engineering exercises focused on engineered solutions within cost parameters with attention to life cycle costs (owner/occupier), maintaining project progress records and coordinating complete designs and thorough contractor documentation, assisting in preparation of contract documentation, providing technical input to consultant design RFPs and overseeing contractor tender documentation including technical assessments. The portfolio spans retail malls, tenant fit-out, residential villas and apartments, hotels, offices and workshops, and luxury private housing, requiring strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV power distribution, lighting, ELV, electrical codes/standards/regulations, proficiency in reviewing drawings/specifications/technical submittals, and strong communication and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to project briefing and establish technical standards for electrical engineering aspects across all projects
- Review all project design stages from Concept to Detailed Design for compliance with design intent and business requirements
- Produce formal review/approval status reports for consultant and contractor designs and manage responses and close-out
- Ensure completed projects are delivered to defined quality standards in conjunction with the project team
- Assist the project team in evaluating site problems, developing solutions, and supporting testing and commissioning of key works
- Monitor project progress against milestones and programme targets, initiate corrective actions, and procure actions from team members with follow-up reporting
- Monitor costs with the project team and prepare/manage actions to maintain cost targets; evaluate variations and prepare budget estimates with the cost team
- Lead regular value engineering exercises to maintain engineered solutions within project cost parameters, recognizing life-cycle costs for owner/occupier projects
- Maintain project progress records for overall reporting and coordinate delivery of complete designs and thorough contractor documentation
- Assist in preparing contract documentation and provide technical input to consultant design RFPs; review and technically assess consultant and contractor proposals
- Oversee contractor tender documentation including review and technical assessment to support procurement and award
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering
- Possess a minimum total of 15 yearsâ work experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership/senior engineering position
- Have a minimum of 10 yearsâ experience directly managing large, complex real estate projects covering site analysis, permitting and approvals, budget control, estimating, design, construction and project management
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical systems (LV, MV, HV, power distribution, lighting, ELV) and applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Be proficient in reviewing design drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
- Exhibit strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Be capable of handling multiple concurrent projects across a portfolio including retail malls, tenant fit-out, residential, hotels, offices, workshops, and luxury private housing
