Job description
This role supports Omantelās commercial profitability and regulatory compliance by maintaining service cost and profitability assessment models, generating regulatory and management reports from the Omantel costing model, and delivering strategic financial inputs for pricing proposals and regulatory consultations. Responsibilities span financial analysis for pricing decisions on new and existing telecom products, including competition review, demand analysis, service bundling, price revisions, and risk mitigation. The position collaborates closely with the regulatory team on economic justifications, margin squeeze tests, Retail Tariff Regulation assessments, competition frameworks, and wholesale reference offers. It reviews finance inputs from the costing team to validate alignment with market pricing and ensures accuracy in product pricing, bundles, and promotional structures. Duties include preparing Separated Regulatory Accounts (SRA) outputs, analyzing cost model results, optimizing value-maximizing adjustments, and performing deep analytical reviews of activity costs. The role manages revenue projects in the costing model, reconciling billing and financial values, maintaining templates, and supporting audit scope, accounting documentation, and compliance with Accounting Separation Regulation. Strong database and big data capabilities are required to create off-system financial models and retrieve accurate datasets using SQL and Python to generate performance reports for mobile and fixed services. The position maintains profitability models and provides insights on service profitability, margin analysis, operational efficiencies, and regulatory decision support.

Key responsibilities
- Provide financial analysis for pricing decisions including price setting, competition evaluation, demand analysis, service bundling, price revisions, and promotion assessments.
- Collaborate with regulatory teams on pricing proposals, economic justifications, and margin squeeze tests ensuring TRA compliance.
- Support consultations related to Retail Tariff Regulation, competition frameworks, and wholesale reference offers.
- Review and validate costing team finance inputs for product pricing, bundles, and promotions in line with market pricing.
- Deliver strategic decision support on tariff and OPEX elements for internal financial models.
- Manage and update revenue projects within the costing model, reconciling billing and financial data and maintaining data templates.
- Prepare and present SRA outputs, explaining year-over-year variances with supporting justifications.
- Analyze and optimize cost model outputs, recommending adjustments that maximize value.
- Conduct analytical reviews of activity costs, recommending optimization actions to management.
- Supervise preparation of audit scope, agreements, and accounting documents to ensure compliance with ASR and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop off-system financial models and ensure accurate data retrieval using SQL and Python for telecom performance reporting.
- Maintain and update profitability models and provide management with profitability and margin insights.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in telecom pricing, analysis, and costing.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory pricing, economic justification, and TRA frameworks.
- Expertise in financial modeling, cost accounting, cost allocation, and market analysis.
- Ability to interpret cost model outputs and perform margin, profitability, and activity cost analysis.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, big data analysis, and database principles.
- Understanding of Accounting Separation Regulation and regulatory compliance processes.
- Proven experience preparing regulatory reporting including SRA and TRA submissions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile large financial datasets.
- Experience supporting pricing consultations, margin squeeze tests, and regulatory benchmarking.
