Job description
This role leads the technical development, design, and industrialization of innovative, high-quality, and sustainable packaging for Huda Beauty. Responsibilities span end-to-end packaging development, conducting technical risk assessments, tolerance stack-up analysis, and industrial validation, ensuring packaging feasibility and compatibility with bulk formulations. The manager oversees CAD models, technical specifications, and sample validation, while coordinating closely with contract manufacturers and suppliers to optimize mold and tooling design, improve production efficiency, resolve technical issues, and support manufacturing transitions. The position drives innovation through emerging packaging technologies, sustainable materials, recyclability strategies, and integration of new manufacturing processes. It collaborates with Quality teams to define testing protocols, ensure compliance with cosmetic industry regulations, participate in line trials and first production runs, and guarantee packaging performance. The role also supports value analysis, cost optimization initiatives, supplier capability assessments, and process improvements to accelerate development timelines, enhance reliability, and maintain design integrity across packaging operations.

- Lead end-to-end development of innovative, high-quality, and sustainable packaging solutions aligned with brand requirements
- Conduct technical risk assessments, tolerance stack-up analysis, and industrial validation to ensure design feasibility
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to optimize manufacturing processes and support industrialization
- Work with Product Development teams to ensure compatibility between bulk formulas and packaging solutions
- Evaluate, create, and provide technical specifications, drawings, and CAD models to suppliers and oversee sample validation
- Coordinate directly with contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers from concept to production
- Analyze and optimize mold and tooling design to improve efficiency and reduce defects
- Identify and resolve technical issues during development or production
- Stay informed on market trends and emerging technologies to propose innovative packaging solutions
- Lead sustainable packaging initiatives evaluating eco-friendly materials and recyclability strategies
- Support R&D on new materials and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with Quality teams to implement testing protocols and ensure regulatory compliance
- Participate in line trials and first production runs to validate packaging performance
- Conduct value analysis and propose cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality
- Support purchasing in evaluating supplier capabilities and cost efficiencies
- Identify process improvements to enhance speed and reliability in packaging development
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of packaging development experience within cosmetics or beauty industry
- Strong technical foundation in packaging materials, manufacturing processes, injection molding, and decoration techniques
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers to industrialize packaging solutions
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and KeyShot; experience with 3D prototyping
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting packaging issues
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to cosmetic packaging
- Proven leadership abilities to mentor and guide teams while driving strategic initiatives
