Job description
The Project Manager at ABB, within the Motion Business Area and Service Division based in Abu Dhabi, is responsible for leading and executing medium-sized projects while ensuring compliance with ABBâs global standards, policies, and contractual commitments. This position requires full accountability for project delivery in terms of cost, schedule, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, from handover and planning to completion and close-out, including risk management, financial control, procurement coordination, and team leadership. The role involves ensuring that projects adhere to ABBâs safety and integrity guidelines, cyber security regulations, and HSE requirements while maintaining strict control over project documentation, invoicing, and performance reporting. This is an on-site position that demands strong technical knowledge in drives and motors, familiarity with SAP, and the ability to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the execution of medium-sized and moderately complex projects in alignment with ABB policies and safety standards
- Develop and oversee project plans covering scope, budget, schedule, risk, and quality objectives
- Monitor project progress, resource utilization, costs, and cash flow while ensuring alignment with financial targets
- Coordinate with business controlling to define financial plans and risk management strategies
- Ensure adherence to ABBâs safety, quality, and compliance standards across all project activities
- Manage internal and external project resources to ensure timely and efficient execution
- Oversee contract management and ensure proper claims handling according to ABB guidelines
- Identify and mitigate project risks while pursuing opportunities for process and cost optimization
- Coordinate procurement activities with Supply Chain Management to secure materials and services on time
- Prepare and present regular project reports, financial updates, and lessons learned for continuous improvement
- Ensure projects are closed out in compliance with contractual requirements and formal acceptance procedures
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred)
- Possess 5â6 years of experience in project management within industrial, electrical, or automation sectors
- Have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Demonstrate proficiency in SAP and order processing systems
- Possess strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract terms and conditions
- Have working knowledge of drives, motors, and related technologies
- Hold or be pursuing a PMP certification (preferred)
- Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Be fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an added advantage
- Demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
