Job description
As an Indirect Tax Manager, you will lead VAT compliance and advisory projects, focusing heavily on e-invoicing implementation and compliance in line with UAE VAT transformation goals. You will work directly with clients to optimize VAT efficiency, resolve tax challenges, and manage regulatory risks, while mentoring a team of indirect tax professionals. This role requires a blend of technical tax expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership skills to deliver tailored, high-quality tax solutions and ensure clients remain compliant in a rapidly evolving tax environment.

Key responsibilities
- Lead VAT advisory and compliance engagements for UAE and regional clients
- Oversee e-invoicing projects, ensuring implementation and compliance with UAE VAT regulations
- Advise clients on complex tax matters and provide proactive and reactive solutions
- Prepare high-quality tax reports, advisory papers, and compliance documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT laws, case law, and regulatory updates
- Build and sustain trusted client relationships, exceeding client expectations
- Manage and mentor a team of indirect tax professionals
- Collaborate with directors and partners on strategic client initiatives
- Support business development efforts and thought leadership initiatives
Experience & skills
- 4-6+ years of experience in VAT/GST (UAE VAT experience essential)
- Professional qualification (CTA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, VAT Act, and relevant case law
- Proven track record in advising clients on sophisticated tax issues
- Experience with e-invoicing frameworks, including implementation and compliance
- Excellent IT and VAT accounting systems proficiency
- Strong written and spoken English (Arabic an advantage)
- Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and deliver high-quality outputs
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel to client sites as needed
