Job description
Assist the Head of Insurance in managing the in-house insurance function of a diversified group with operations in over 19 countries, spanning retail, real estate, trading, hotels, and other businesses. The role involves policy review, claims preparation, analytical support for HR-related and non-HR-related insurance, procurement of coverage, portfolio management, stakeholder coordination, premium budgeting, and training design.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in procuring adequate insurance coverage as required by the business and provide insights on claims and potential premium impacts.
- Manage the insurance portfolio across all operating countries, including data collection, maintenance, placement, renewal, and analysis.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather key data and present it professionally to insurance providers and brokers.
- Prepare and review risk-related information from various businesses to assess associated risks.
- Negotiate premiums and terms with brokers in coordination with the Head of Insurance.
- Review policy wordings to ensure coverage aligns with agreed terms.
- Analyze claims data to support negotiations for better insurance terms.
- Administer requirements under insurance policies including declarations and data processing.
- Prepare insurance claims by coordinating with internal departments and negotiating with insurers.
- Provide analytical support to advise various company functions on insurance matters.
- Prepare insurance premium budgets in coordination with business units.
- Develop a methodology for allocating premiums to various stakeholders.
- Manage claim preparation and settlement processes.
- Assist in recovering claims from third parties related to shipments and property damage.
- Train and mentor insurance officers for greater independence.
- Design and deliver training programs to raise insurance process awareness among stakeholders.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Commerce, or Management.
- Professional qualification such as ACII, FIII, MIRM, or ARM preferred.
- 5–7 years of managerial experience in insurance and risk management.
- Well-versed in all aspects of insurance and risk management.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office and similar applications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience in brokerage or insurance company is an advantage.
