Job description
The Data Center Deployment Specialist at NVIDIA supports the deployment and maintenance of NVIDIA products across large-scale and high-performance data centers, both in-field and remotely. The role involves guiding and supervising third-party contractors, ensuring accurate cable installations including type, port assignments, and timing of activity, and performing quality testing and relabeling based on Point-to-Point (P2P) standards. The specialist validates and updates cabling-related work instructions, maintains accurate asset and inventory data in Asset Manager, and contributes to Data Center Standards updates. Responsibilities also include inspecting received hardware shipments, documenting processes, maintaining event logs, and installing network systems at customer sites. This position requires deep technical understanding of data center environments, including servers, networking equipment, and liquid-cooled systems, with hands-on experience in installation, monitoring, and maintenance. The role demands strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in dynamic environments. The position involves approximately 30ā35% travel and interaction with R&D and network engineering teams. Key responsibilities
- Deploy and support NVIDIA products in data center environments.
- Guide and supervise third-party contractors both in field and remote settings.
- Ensure accurate cable installations, including type, number, port assignments, and activity timing according to best practices.
- Print labels and re-label cables following the Point-to-Point (P2P) scheme.
- Conduct quality testing of all cables and resolve issues with cabling components.
- Validate and update work instructions related to cabling activities and provide feedback on Data Center Standards.
- Record all relevant physical assets in Asset Manager with complete inventory details.
- Inspect received hardware shipments and perform receiving duties.
- Document processes and maintain detailed event logs.
- Install various network systems at customer sites and ensure operational integrity.
Experience & skills
- 2ā3 years of experience as a data center technician, field service engineer, or similar role.
- Bachelorās degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
- Experience with liquid-cooled systems and data center monitoring.
- Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center equipment.
- Excellent teamwork and IT support capabilities.
- Proficiency in documenting and detailing network processes.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30ā35%.
- Certifications such as BICSI, CNCDP, CNCI, or FOA CFOSDC are advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with R&D and network engineering teams and demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
