The Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud Architecture & AWS Infrastructure at Rapyd in Dubai is a hands-on Security & IT Expert role requiring 8+ years of experience in DevOps and software engineering, with deep AWS expertise and experience across public cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure. Operating within Rapyd’s global fintech platform that unifies payments, payouts, and fintech services worldwide, this position drives the architectural design and implementation of global cloud infrastructure, supports migration from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-native services, and ensures platforms are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. The role requires strong coding proficiency in Python and Terraform, with advanced expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including identifying modularization opportunities and delivering Terraform modules to production. Responsibilities include designing and executing cloud migration strategies, defining and implementing multi-account AWS architecture, VPC designs, security controls, and shared services, and establishing cloud infrastructure standards, reusable patterns, and governance models. The Senior DevOps Engineer collaborates with DevOps, Application, and Security teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated operations, and API-driven infrastructure solutions. The role also drives cloud cost optimization, monitoring, and operational efficiency, utilizing observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and ELK. It ensures compliance with internal and external security standards including SOC 2 and PCI, provides architectural guidance to leadership for new initiatives, and leads continuous improvement initiatives across cloud transformation projects at scale. The position requires strong expertise in low-level networking and container orchestration platforms such as EKS, ECS, and Kubernetes, combined with the ability to articulate complex cloud architecture concepts to global technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Lead the architectural design and implementation of global cloud infrastructure, network, and application solutions across AWS and other public cloud platforms
- Design and execute cloud migration strategies transitioning from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-native services
- Define and implement multi-account AWS architecture including VPC design, security controls, and shared services
- Develop and codify Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Python, creating reusable modules and delivering them to production
- Collaborate with DevOps, Application, and Security teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated operations, and API-driven infrastructure
- Drive cloud cost optimization, monitoring, and operational efficiency using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and ELK
- Ensure cloud architecture designs meet internal and external compliance and security requirements including SOC 2 and PCI
- Provide cloud architectural guidance to leadership as a technical advisor for new initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement and technological excellence across cloud transformation projects
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Software engineering with strong focus on architecture for infrastructure and applications
- Exhibit 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and leading infrastructure lifecycles in cloud environments including AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Possess solid coding skills in Terraform and Python with advanced expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and module development to production standards
- Demonstrate strong expertise in low-level networking
- Show experience with container orchestration platforms including EKS, ECS, or Kubernetes
- Demonstrate familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and ELK
- Ensure ability to meet internal and external compliance and security standards including SOC 2 and PCI
