Job description
The Engineer β I&C Maintenance (Analyzer and Automation) role is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing maintenance activities for a wide range of instrumentation, control, analyzer, and automation systems at an onshore oil and gas processing facility. The role ensures reliable and continuous functioning of plant instrument and control systems through close coordination with operations, mechanical, and electrical maintenance teams. Responsibilities include technical field support for critical maintenance activities, troubleshooting and testing of equipment, preventive and breakdown maintenance execution, resource and manpower planning, material and spare parts control, and implementation of root cause analysis to improve system reliability and availability. The role also contributes to major maintenance planning, upgrades, obsolescence management, and supports new project development, commissioning, technical bid evaluations, and contractor performance oversight in line with ADNOC GAS O&M standards and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities
- Plan and supervise maintenance activities for instrumentation, control, analyzer, and automation systems to ensure reliable plant operations.
- Provide technical support for equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine surveillance, and startup activities.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless execution of planned work.
- Provide on-site technical support for critical maintenance activities to minimize downtime and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Evaluate and allocate manpower for preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Assess workload, backlog, and work plans, coordinating resources to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Monitor and control availability of materials, spares, consumables, and tools to support continuous operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and unplanned shutdowns and recommend corrective actions.
- Support preparation and tracking of major maintenance, upgrades, and obsolescence issues aligned with rolling business plans.
- Provide technical support for development, implementation, and commissioning of new projects to ensure compliance with standards and cost optimization.
- Participate in defining technical requirements, technical bid evaluations, and inspection of received materials.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with technical specifications.
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelorβs degree in instrumentation and control, electronics, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering and maintenance.
- Demonstrate experience working within a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Demonstrate hands-on expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement of I&C and automation systems.
